INTRODUCTION

Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the ESSR and President Elena Drakonaki, it is my great pleasure to welcome you all to the 34th Annual Meeting in Bergen, Norway, from June 24-26, 2027.

The theme of the educational programme is “Soft Tissues”. As usual, Thursday 24th is the day of workshops, including the traditional Ultrasound Workshop. In addition, the educational programme will include presentations from all the subcommittees and the ESSR Young Club. The scientific presentation sessions will give you an opportunity to present and/or display your recent research findings as ePosters.

The city of Bergen is a World Heritage city and the second largest city in Norway with its 300,000 inhabitants. It is the “gateway” to the fjords, surrounded by seven mountains, the starting port for the traditional coastal liner “Hurtigruten”, and is connected to the capital with a 7-hour train journey if you wish to travel across the mountains (and seasons) with “Bergensbanen”.

The congress centre “Grieghallen”, named after one of our famous composers, Edvard Grieg, is a piano-shaped building in the middle of the compact city centre. It is only a few minutes’ walk from the central transportation station where the airport tram ends. Surrounded by shops, museums, historical attractions, restaurants, and hotels, it is an excellent location to venture out into the city and experience the atmosphere of Bergen.

Warm regards,

Anagha Parkar
