Getting here
Bergen is one of Norway's most accessible destinations, offering excellent domestic and international transport connections. Bergen Airport, Flesland serves numerous destinations across Europe, with frequent direct flights and convenient links to the city centre by light rail, airport bus, or taxi.
Combining modern infrastructure with spectacular natural surroundings and a compact, walkable city centre, Bergen provides a welcoming and convenient destination for visitors from around the world.

Bergen is easily reached via Bergen Airport, Flesland (BGO), Norway’s second-largest airport, located approximately 18 km from the city centre. The airport offers direct flights to major European cities as well as domestic destinations throughout Norway.
The city centre is easily accessible from the airport by the Bybanen light rail, airport bus, or taxi, with a journey time of approximately 30–40 minutes.
The airport bus (Flybussen) provides a direct connection between Bergen Airport and the city centre, with several stops in central Bergen and frequent departures throughout the day.
Getting around
Bergen has an efficient and easy-to-use public transport system, including the Bybanen light rail and an extensive network of buses operated by Skyss. The official Skyss app allows you to plan journeys, purchase tickets, and access real-time departure information. It is available on the App Store and Google Play.
Tip: Tickets purchased through the Skyss app are valid on both the light rail and buses. If you prefer, you can also pay contactlessly on board using a bank card or mobile device, although purchasing tickets in advance through the app is often more convenient.
